About the Artist

Originally from Hamburg, New York, Yvonne is an Air Force veteran who spent much of her career in the demanding world of emergency medicine and critical care. Even with a full plate, her heart was always drawn to service—mentoring at-risk youth and volunteering with those experiencing homelessness.

When the pandemic brought fear and uncertainty, she turned to clay and found comfort in its quiet rhythm. Pottery became her refuge—a peaceful, grounding space where hands and heart could work together to create something meaningful.

Now rooted in New Smyrna Beach, Yvonne creates ceramic work inspired by coastal life, movement, and everyday beauty. Her pieces balance function and sculpture, inviting calm, connection, and use. Giving back is central to her practice. A portion of each sale from the Seagull Beach Cleanup Collection is donated to marine education programs at the Marine Discovery Center, supporting hands-on learning and coastal stewardship for local children.

When Yvonne isn’t in the studio, you’ll likely find her walking the shoreline with her husband, Dan—more often than not followed closely by their sandy-pawed Mastiff, always watching the gulls.
